[Intro]

"Alright, I must say this is not the way I expected I were going to tell my story. But as you wish, I guess I'll just get started."

*Some scribble is heard in the background*

"I'll start with the well, start I guess."

[Prolonge: Life on The Street.]

"My moms always told me my dad was a great man, I remember how much I hated him. I didn't know better, I never really got to know him since he was killed in combat. So I grew up to be a dysfunctional individual. I went to this shit hole of a school, I were there long enough to learn everything I needed and then I turned to the streets. I took part in different types of crime, and I never got caught. Lets skip forward till I was seventeen, I remember one day coming by one of my homies households. I walked in looking for him, everything seemed to be in place. So I went to his bedroom to check if he was sleeping, I should just have stayed home... As I slowly open the door the smell caught me, I didn't wonder about it before I swung it fully open and yelled.. Get the fuck up homie!... Instead of seeing my homie asleep, as I expected. I saw the blood on the wall, and his body bed with a gun in his hand. I didn't know what to do. So I took a step up close, seeing the small hole in his forehead. His face expression were just.. Frozen, you could still see the pain in his wide open eyes. I felt like I stared death directly in the eyes that day. I rushed out on the porch were I just fell on my knees. Unable to belive what had happend, I took my cell and called another homie. We talked for some minutes before he said it was my fault, my fucking fault. *As David talks you can the see the pure anger like it was streaming out of his eyes.* I went back home and hardly made it inside before my moms started to scream at me. I asked what was up, she just shook her head before screaming...You better get the fuck up and out of my household! I can't take this anymore, don't you get it, David?!.. I froze in the spot for a minute before walking straight out the door. What did I have? This baggy set of clothes and a revolver, a small wad of money and a fucked life. *David's face experssion change back to his calm serious face again* "So, there I was on the street, all I had was myself. I spent some days on the road before I took a plane to New York, where I used my time mugging small timers. I remember one of these people, it was a cold night. I just walked straight up to him and he handed me his wallet without any trouble, I felt sorry for this guy somehow. Hell, he got my full name as I accidently dropped my ID. Anyways, after a long time spent in the streets about two year, I made my way back to California. Walking down Long Beach in LA, I looked for a victim before this man came out of this gym. Asking for my help, I thought.. Hell, why not?... He just had a couple of things he needed help to set up, after this. He asked if I wanted a job there, I thought hard about it before actually accepting. I had the best years in my life there. I remember Tom like yesterday, he was the most friendly guy in the world, who actully lived his dream. Having this gym and accepting participaters for the lowest sum ever, hard two dollars to get in. I spent four years with the gym personal, I lived life for the first time."

*A question is heard echo in the empty room. "Cut to the case."*

"Alright, I remember laying in my bed, thinking hardly able to sleep as always. All the people I had pushed away cause I had no tolerence for nonsense and were on a quest for money. Suddenly my thoughts just froze around my mom, this feeling. This feeling just filled my body, like I was shot twice in the chest. I thought alot about the situation and wanted to do something in the name of my family. So, the next morning I took the first plane to WA and walked in the recruitment center. I walked up to the counter and started singing papers and filling out questions. Some hours later I was accepted into platoon Sierra. With that I went to Afghanistan.

[A new beginning]

*Another voice is heard. "We're getting somewhere now"*

"Right... Alright, I got off the plane with a shitload of other recruits. I didn't talk to nobody, I felt like I was the bottom of the line, the lowest part in soceity. But somehow I was thrown straight into training, I used serval weeks with the Drill Sergeant, who kept calling me Pussy. Hell, I had the urge just to grab his Colt and blow his brains out. I were just tripping for some reason but suddenly the promotion came up. I had my gear handed out by the Drill Sergeant, with this I guess a new life had begun. Time to honor everything I dishonored before, this time it will be deaht before dishonor.

I remember my first patrol, with a set of friendly soldiers. We walked through the blazing hot desert, everything seemed quiet. BEFORE, suddenly these insurgents jumped out and started firing at our group, we all searched for cover. I was sadly shot in my shoulder before I made it to cover, so I draw my handgun and sent a burst of shots at one of thems knee. It hit and I made time to get to cover, everything started to go black. This is not the first time I've been shot, I was shot in New York three years ago, and shit started to flash for my eyes. As I was nearly killed back then. I went into shock and went out cold. Waking up at a table back on base, this guy I only knew by the name of Pitbull by my side as this unknown man stood there too. I asked what had happend and I was quickly breifed before I turned to the unknown man and asked for his name. John 'Dawn' Steinmann, not the last time I would meet this man I tell you. We spent a lot of time in this desert, before we suddenly were reassinged to the mountains and we went there so fast I hardly remember how.

I remember I used my time talking to some fellow soldiers on the way there, Josh way, Todd, Chris and Hal's brother."

"Oh, wait. While we're at it, I remember being on patrol with Dawn and some other guys, standing on the second floor in this two story house. A bus suddenly drove up outside, one of the soldiers paniced and opened fire at it. It was filled with IED's and the house just started crumbling as it exploded. The most of the second floor came down upon us, sharpnel wounds all over. We were medevac'd and got back to base, I had to remove all the sharpnel myself. So I did, with a body filled with wounds I went to sleep.. Wondering, if this was the right choice. I told myself I should shut it and man the fuck up. So I did, but lets carry on."

[Over hill and dale]

*Suddenly David stands straight up with the words "I don't fucking want to do this, all this shit comes back up in me."

*One of the men at the end of the table simply with a calm and cold voice goes.."You have to, now sit down and start talking."

*The other man walks up to David with a drawn gun taking direct aim at him. David stares at him as you clearly can see through the broken mirros supposed to be his eyes. You can see the sorrow, the hatred, the rage, the pain, everything he is.*

*David shakes his head slighty before lowering himself back down onto the chair as he turns his head to the man and gives him a slight nod as he starts talking*

"Alright, we came to the mountain region of Afghanistan. We unpacked and I went on my first patrol there with Colonel Tom Murphy, we went to this tunnel where a group of locals stood. They turn around starring at us before bullets suddenly starts flying through the air, I get shot agian before getting in cover. This time I kept fighting, I kept firing rounds at them. Suddenly the Colonel yelled... "Hold Fire!"... So we did and was sent back to base, we were a small unit and he had us stand in line. Standing there I remember the feeling of the wound just cracking all the way to the bone. I stood straight and at attention even though I was bleeding heavily. He came to me and handed me a Private First Class insignia and a Purple Heart and cracked a smile at me before stepping to the next in the line."

*David lowers his head before reaching into one of his pouches taking out his Private First Class insignia holding it between his finger before placing it on the table. The man asks to see the Purple Heart, David shook his head as he continued talking...*

"Some days after this a recruitment session for the Bravo squad came up and what to do. I fucking ran to the session so fast I could, I came inside the warehouse and looked up at Dawn. He stood there with Todd by his side, Todd who I know by Midnight now. I can tell you one thing from the recruitment, orange."

*The men looks confused at David as he cracks a wry smile at them before he continues talking.*

"So I got a part in Bravo, as a rifleman. I was one happy man that day, I felt like I had accomplished something. I felt proud standing among my new brothers, I felt confused though cause this woman named Lucy and called Storm. Used to lead Bravo, where was she now?"

*The men stops writing stuff down as they look at each other before turning to David, starring at him waiting for him to continue.*

"So... I recived my callsign Dusk that day, the day I would be bound to a new name. I felt like a new person, and I found a bit of peace within myself that day."

*David sits quiet for a moment before he asks them both a question.*

"Let me ask you both this, would you protect yours and your people? If there was a final hour, would you hope for a higher power. One, two I have ammo what about you?"

*They both give his a wired stare without answering him as they look confused.*

"I thought so, let me continue then. I got to know alot of people in this camp, for example the Simmonds brothers. They were always together before Michael started hanging out with Adam Fox. Fox, he was a good guy I sadly never talked to him that much back then."

*A second pass by as David cough trying to clear his throat.*

"Spectre made me a patrol leader once, this was a longer mission I don't really want to talk more about. I rather want to talk about this huge mortar strike the base took one day. The field outside were mortared as a large force of insurgents started attacking us. I had my whole left arm filled with bullet holes, it's a miracle I can still use it. Spectre, Midnight, Husky and I went to find the mortar. We found it and it was a simple decoy. We went back through a small tunnel and mortar rain started as soon as Spectre stepped out. It hit the ledge of the tunnel top, sending a rain of debris down upon her. We rushed out to get her free, we did and got a vee to evac. But on the way back the vee was hit by a mortar and rolled over. Fucking hell, it was a fucking hell. We all got out and started rushing back while all grabbed a part of Spectre to make sure if she had broken her spine. We wouldn't fuck her nerve system up. We got back alive, another day done. I was promoted to Specialist that day."

*David cough again as he takes a pack of cigs from his vest, taking out one placing it between his lips. He then takes out a blue lighter with Japanese writing on, he goes.."Kurusaki gave me this before he retired." He lights the cig and takes a drag before inhaling and exhaling.*

"I was leading a patrol to the tunnel where we were attacked by those so called suicide bombers and insurgents. A soldier called Jason Hane was killed, may his soul rest in peace. We made it out alive that day."

*Takes another drag on the cig, holding it in his lungs for a moment before exhaling. Looking at the two as he continues.*

"Through my tour of duty, I had killed and nearly got killed. It's quiet simple, kill or get killed. As I undress at night and look down upon my body, I see every scar stirking my mind with a memory of death or pain. You know, we're here to save people, while trying to stay alive. I've seen the honor of a thousand men, the valor of a million. The tear in the eyes of each individual, it may not have been physical, you can see it spiritual as you look them in their eyes."

*Looks around before flicking the butt of the cig down onto the floor as he continues.*

"We were in this house filled with illusions, two soldiers had gone made that day. One of them was Jason Hurtlock, hell. You'll get to hear more about him later. They came back all fresh and ready to fight a week later."

*Looks down upon his left shoulder before looking back up.*

"I took the leadership of Bravo squad and recived the rank of Sergeant, I had my squad and I started to gather my brothers and expand."

*The men look at him before asking him to continue. David hesitate for a moment before going on with a sad look in his eyes.*

"I walked into the barracks and sat down at the computer, I checked and a mail was stamped for me. It read my mother had died, my fucking mother had died! I came there and fought for that, to make her proud and be able to look into her eyes without feeling ashame! And she fucking died."

*A tear can be seen rolling from his left eye as he stares at the men with a serious look on his face.*

"So I asked when will I fucking live! Where the fuck is my happy ending! Fuck everyone who doubted me, demons have crowded me. You look at me and think I look weak as fuck. I tell you, I'm strong. Do not doubt me nor my valor, I fucking continue.. I started to work on my squad, I used all my time on my squad. I wanted to make them experience and trained strong, so I used time in bushes watching DMD and by the table as the medics treated people. I used all this to teach my men, I threw myself into critical situations, I spent weeks in the field alone without anything. Just to learn so I could pass it on."

*Shakes his head before he continues.*

"Enough about that for now, alright. The base was attacked and we had to evac, the base was then blown up as a patrol was up there. I was with them, escorted back to a new camp. Apps had set it near the DMD camp. Time went by and Hurricane and me were sitting in a bush observing a hostage situation. Spectre was and even Lucy Young, otherwise known as Storm. Jannet was in the car with the terrorist, who had a gun to her head."

*David lowers his head as he lets out a deep sigh and continues.*

"Suddenly shit broke loose and Lucy was shot in the heart, Jannet was pulled out and the insurgent was killed. We quickly got up and out of the bush, rushing over there. She was on the ground, Spectre next to her. I didn't belive my own eyes, looking at this strong woman. This had happend to her... We latter burried her, with all of Bravo there. We showed her our respect and with the words.. Its not the Dusk nor Midnight, it will never be Dawn. This will forever remain in the Strom."

*Takes a deep breath as he continues.*

"I stood by the barrier of the new base one day, we had set up in the village and sent the villagers away somehow. So, right. I was standing there and spent some time talking to Redd, we talked alot about personal stuff. I never got to tell you about this coin, my fathers. The only thing I had left from him, I felt like it was time to pass it. I passed it to Redd and said "Have my luck." he nodded at me and walked away."

*David sits tripping with his fingers as he keeps quiet for a moment before he continues.*

"A huge situation where the base was litterated by a Hydrogen bomb, we had made it out of the area before it blew. But I was shot in the chest by a shotgun, glad I had my vest and a shitload of luck. The bullets was stuck in the bones and the force had punctured on lung. I had a hard time breathing as I was sleeping on the evac to stay alive. We came to a new base, shit base.

[A Scarred Man]

"I walked around for sometime and met this guy called Bloodhound, obviously Hurtlock. We went on a patrol together while I had this wound, I fought just to move. I couldn't get it fixed as people forgot about me and the medbay was getting set up. So I figured and made a bad choice. We came back to base, I was talking to Hurtlock before I suddenly collapsed on the ground and went out black. Blood lose, I was treated by Doc. I was once again lucky to live, fucking lucky. After this I spent time to walk around on the frontline and spoke alot to Hurtlock, he was a good soldier and a great guy. So I had to recruit him on the spot, and I did. That's something I'll never regret."

*David stops as he looks around asking.."What is this place even?".. One of the men go.."You should know, you have been here before." David gives him a confused stare before shaking his head and continueing."

"Time passed by in this base, I was on a patrol with Snow, oh yeah. That's Hurtlock. Snow and Turner and we found a bunker, well. This could have been a taliban base, but higher command ordered us directly away from there. Strange indeed, as we had returned and I was by myself again. I walked into the forest cause I saw a soldier out there, I found Jannet sitting in some hole just starring into a little flashlight. I didn't ask I just looked at her and she looked back up at me before I walked out of there. She was a higher raking soldier than me and obviously had her reasons, she must have been pretty broken after Apps death. I should have asked I tell you, cause she comitted suicide or was shot by another officer or something.. I don't remember. Fuck man.."

*David stares at the man who had put the gun on the table before he continues.*

"We had moved base again, now we were in this radioactive area once again. I remember Krazy walking up in the middle of camp putting a gun to his head before he let it off. His dead body feel to the ground just right infront of the eyes of everybody. I didn't know how to take this so I started to get more and more depressed. As some time later on a patrol Midnight stepped on a IED and nearly got killed...

*David smacks both his fits into the table as he goes.."I see death, pain and sorrow everywhere!"

"A good example is, Snow and I was caught up at some rocks by some insurgents. We was trapped as we tried to get around I was shot in the leg by a insurgent and I had shot him in the chest. The other insurgent came as I fell and sprayed Hurtlock down, we both took a shot at him. He was hurted and as he took some more shots at Hurtlock. I opened fire at the insurgent but he managed to escape. Snow were on the ground out cold and bleeding, he would not make it if we were just to wait. So I took the sling of my carbine and removed the buckle before moving him with his back onto my chest. I wrapped the sling around use and tightend it in and started crawling, I must say. I thought we were going to die out there, what a movtivation. Problem to that is we made it back to base and over the hill, well. We made it to the top of the small hill before we started sliding out of control and I smacked my head on a stone just next to base and got knocked out. Romalia came out and picked us up, glad he did. We were treated and survived."

*David corrects his vest before he starts talking again.*

"I had my mind changed that day, instead of living for something. I found something to die for and new dream and a new way of life. Fuck a new way of life, I'm the same man, wait. I'm a changed man, fuck it."

*Looks down at his hands before he asks.."Do you got the heart to die for your own?" They don't asnwer as they just scribble it down and waits for David to continue.*

"A recruitment for the Rangers came up, I loved my squad but I wanted to try this. So I did and made it into Rangers, leaving Bravo and my brothers behind. I used my time training as we were told to, Gerat came with to Rangers too. I had known him for a long time, he was a Bravo member too before that he was a 117th member by the name of Sapper. We always greeted each other like..Sup, Sapper? He would reply, Just sapping around.. Hell, I'll continue."

*David cracks a light smile as he goes.*

"Kaitlyn asked me to come to Epsilon Five, there she learned me how to drive a tank. A fucking tank! I was glad she learned me this, she was a good soldier and a great leader. I respect her, no doubt. So I was rolling in the tank, she was in a buggy. A group of insurgents followed by and she told me to return the tank to base, so I did and ran back for her. She was hold up by a insurgent by some rocks, so I slowly went around amining my weapons directly at the man about to take the shot before I was holded up myself. A guy had somehow managed to get around the rocks and then he out of nowhere shot my back straight open. I feel to the ground, O'Neil had somehow saved me. I don't remember but she saved my fucking life, my foolish rescue attempt failed and she rescued my ass instead. After I was treated I woke up with having a medic and O'Neil by the table. She asked if I needed any help, I asked to be taken outside and she helped me outside. I was sat off by the campfire, she sat down. We spoke a little before Snow and Gerat came by taking a seat. We all talked while O'Neil was quiet, then Redd suddenly turned up sitting down by the table. He looked confused, angry and sad at the same time. He took out the coin and flipped it into the air, before he looked down upon it and draw his handgun shooting himself in the head. I couldn't belive my own fucking eyes.. He had a note in one hand, I don't remember what it read. O'Neil and I burried him close to Epsilon Eight, before she forced me back into the medbay and kept me there. I had a urge to run out even though I was not to walk anywhere, I got to know her a little."

*David cracks a light smile as he goes.."I see death around the corner."*

[I have no Name]

"Some days after this incident the base was moved due to some insurgent attacks, we had set camp up in the desert. I heard a radio transmission by some soldiers requesting reinforcements, nobody answered so I went there by myself. I saw them up on a hill and I climbed up there, as I came up I saw the insurgents were in the old base. I hardly got a look before I was shot in the right shoulder, I crawled back and started treating myself. Yeah, I had a quick look in the medbays supplies."

*David shakes his head as he chuckles a bit before his face expression turns dead serious.*

"I went down there to flank them, I hoped for the rest to come. I knew I had one behind me, he was right behind me. I guess not, a insurgent came from the fence and jumped me. I tried to take a shot at him as he were ontop of me but he shot me in a weird angle making my collar bone break without the bullet entering. I was shot there and afterwards pistol whipped, and dragged inside. As I woke up I found myself tied to a chair as the Insurgent stood infront of me. He had a revovler in his hand, he placed the tip of the barrel on my helmet and was just about to take the shot. Then the other guy in there said he should play Russian Roulette with my life. So he did, he clicked the cylinder chamber out and removed all bullet but one. He then clicked it back in and moved his hand across making it spin before he cocked the hammer back. He smiled at me and took various shot before coming to the last. I could see the bullet in the barrel, so I said my prayers and awaited death....

*David lowers his head for a moment before looking back up at the two.*

"His comrade said somebody was coming so he didn't shoot me, instead he forced a liter of vodka into me after he pistol whipped me. I woke up again moments after on the ground still tied to the chair, I looked around before I puked all over the floor. I had gotten my hands free before I was knocked out. So I proceeded to untieing my feet, I rolled off the chair and attempted to come up as two people came in. One was Vulture-Five and the other I don't remember, Vulture offered me a hand up and I took it. Suddenly a insurgent came in about to shoot us to fuck but he was suddenly shot and Spectre came around the corner. I was helped out, before saying I probaly could walk by myself. So I did, as we made it to the door. It was blocked by some bathtub, so I suggested throwing a grenade out there. We went back as Vulture threw a grenade out there, she returned alive. I stood by Snow and Gerat by then. Vulture asked me to follow her to Epsilon and I stumbled after her, there was a helicopter she evaced me in. As we made it back to the base, I opened the door and fell out on the ground. She came around and helped me up and into the medbay. I went out cold there,

*David looks at them and goes.."Could I have a glass of water now?" They just laugh at him and shake their heads.*

"Alright, I guess... So I woke up on the table, Vulture on my right, medic on my left and Snow came by dropping off a box. Damn, Snow. I guess that's his way of saying his regards, he feels like a brother to me. Anyways, Vulture helped me off the table and into the camp on a small bench, we sad there talking. Fuck it, I won't talk about this."

*David lowers his head and cracks a light smile before going.."I can though tell that the box contained a new knife since I gave Dawn my knife to kill the insurgents brother that had killed Lucy. Anyways, I fucking thank you again Snow."*

"Right, I was still wounded and we heard both O'Bryan and Vulture was lost in the field, even though I was wounded we went into the field looking for them. We found the helicopter crashsite, a inurgents stood by Vulture aiming his gun at her. He was quickly taken out and we went to her and got her out of the fire. Wootson and I took her back to camp as Snow and Geret went onto looking for O'Bryan. I had to treat her as she had burn wounds all over her upperbody. So I did and as I did, O'Bryan came in on the table behind me. A day well done I guess."

*The men nods slowly as the scribble it down.*

"So we moved to a new base not so long after this...

[Paradise is Quiet]

*David folds his arms as he leans back as he continues.*

"So, we arrived in this new base. It was just like a fucking paradise if you compare it to the other places we been. I must say I used most of my time training Rangers in this base. I trained one Ranger after another, moving them up in sections. It reminded me pretty much of Bravo, some familliar faces, yeah. So using all this time training, I found time to socialize with a few people. I made a promise to get up and out of this dark hole I was in, I asked her to promise not dying on me. I spent so much time, just trying to finish the Rangers I were training. One day an agent came to base to pick up O'Neil, we set after O'Neil to get her before they did. Bravo and I sacificed so much just to try and keep her alive, I nearly lost my position in Rangers. Hell, the feeling standing among my Brothers proud as the first time I did. I didn't care one fucking bit, we all fight for something we belive in. So did we that day. After this incident, the agents escaped alive and Fox were going to sign a set of papers to move me back to Bravo due to this. Well, he didn't so, yeah. Some time after this incident I tried recruiting Snow into the Regiment, he denied the first offer but after some time I finally got him convinced, nah. He made the choice himself and I'm glad he did. Good to have a brother more among us."

*One of the men goes.."You were with when Daemon was captured and then escaped, right?".. David gives him a slight nod before he goes.."

"I was, O'Neil and I found him in a curch. He was on the second floor, I gave O'Neil a shoulder so she could get up there and put him in cuffs. They both came down afterwards, they started talking about something I won't add but as they talked. O'Neil took aim at him as another pilot walked in, she looked at Daemon before leaving while laughing. I felt mindfucked for a moment but kept my cool, I heard something so I turned around to Daemon and O'Neil.. Suddenly everything went dark, like I was swalloed by this void. Moments later I wake up on the floor, O'Neil laying to the left gasping for air and Daemon and the pilot could be seen by the helicopter outside. I asked for a Sniper to take the shot as we had a overwatch, but of course it had to start raining all of a sudden. I turned to O'Neil who had been shot in the chest, it did not enter due to the vest. So we walked back out to the buggy and drove back to the base. I helped her with some stuff before I was told to stick close, a random officer started asking questions about the situation and yeah. You probaly heard.

*David gives him a strange look before shaking his head slighty. The man cracks a wry smile as he continues to write.*

"After this we went into an un-authrized combat zone of Russia, we were not here for that long. I didn't do much here since I was just laying covered in Snow testing my own limits. Even though I one day did walk up in Haych-Que before hearing someone asking for help on the radio, I came up the stairs and saw the fire in the hallway. The smoke making it hard to see and I walked down the hallway, I came to the room with the fire. I ran through the fire onto the other side and found a private and Snow on the floor. We quickly got him out of the room and in the medbay in Haych-Que. I started to look him over before a medic came and O'Neil stepped in behind me. I saw him open his eyes, as I was focused and told to move away. I stood up and left the room, I didn't felt like watching that shit."

*David shrugs before continueing.*

"Not long after this, Daemon was caught by O'Neil and we returned to America, bootcamp."

[Waiting]

"So here we were, waiting and training. I trained Rangers while Drill Sergeant trained recruits. I felt stuck and out of myself in this area, hell. It was hard to face the facts and being back home. So close to my old life, I could just feel the demons creeping up inside. I couldn't fucking handle the fact that I did not have anything to distract me at all. I'm a fucking soldier now, not the man I was back in the days. So I kept to myself at most times tryng to keep sane, I spent a little time with Snow and Gerat though. Nobody else than that though. I recall being promoted to Sergeant First Class with Gerat, Snow and Spectre in Fox's office, by Fox himself. That was something I didn't expect but hell."

*David reaches into a pouch taking out both his Specialist, Sergeant and Sergeant First Class insignias. He slowly places each one down on the table as he give them a slight nod and continues.*

"So not long after we were all to stand at attention on the parade ground, we did and was told we were gong back out again. Back to some desert, hell.

[Wrong or Right]

"So, we came back to the desert. I spent my first hours to scout the area all alone, I walked through the desert and ended up freezing. It's weird, right? Well, I came back and sat down by the garage as I started to think about who was back from the old days. Dawn, Foxhound, Higgins, Husky, Spectre and Midnight... I think that's it, fucking hell. I even think Kyle is still alive out there somewhere, the man who faked his own death and posed as a private after he did. I remember being told the issue was between Marco, Kyle and Lucy, a fight for a woman. I think he said Kyle was pushed over the edge by Marco, just because he wanted Lucy for himself. If I could spent five minutes with that motherfucker.. I never knew Kyle for anything but the attitude he posted against me, but what happend to him is nowhere close to fair.. Five minutes, I tell you.."

*David looks dead serious as he repeats himself for the third time.."Five minutes.. Or rewind time, five minutes could change everything. I guess this is just another strange year.." David shakes his head and continues talking about Kyle.*

I rememer coming out from the base back in the mountains, I saw Mindight on the ground he had been shot by the woman infront of him. It was nobody else but Lucy 'Storm' Young in person, and she still had her gun aimed at Midnight. Midnight had protected another soldier who later was revieled to be Kyle, I took direct aim at Lucy as she kept her aim at Midnight. Back then me and Midnight had gotten up in some complications, but just due to that. Why the fuck should I let someone shoot a brother? So I kept my aim directed at her, nearly pulling the trigger before it Kyle was exposed and I lowered my carbine looking over at him. I shook my head and slinged my rifle onto my back. I went over and crouched down picking Midnight up in my arms, walking back to base not giving a flying fuck about the situation out there..."

*David eyes starts to flick as his face expression changes to a mix of angry and confused.*

"Five minutes, could have prevented all this.."

*David slams his right hand in the table as it makes a metallic echo in the room, he stares at one of the men without saying anything. The man simply goes, continue with the actual story. So he did*

"Alright... It was a day as any other. the heat made its way through peoples confidence. And the officers ran around yelling as always, I used my time to fill a mag up as before I set out to scout the area. I was alone and I remember talking to myself...

- Im out here scouting, nothing seems to be out of order. That helo keeps it altitude and seems to be fine, let me check over here. *A explosion is suddenly heard* The fuck... It crashed in the small town, better move in. As I was getting closer, Lone gave me the report saying he had me covered. I ran around a wall, finding cover as I thought for a second. I then advanced and got up to the helo, looking for a radio operator through the thick black smoke. I couldnt see shit, so I had to walk through the little path inside the fire. Probaly burned my arms a bit for getting to see, no one was in the helo. So, I moved inside the first two story building the helo had seem'd to crash directly into before hitting the ground. Shit filled with smoke before I suddenly spotted someone walking in the door, ghillie suit. Hmm, only one guy goes alone like that. He nodded at me and I gave a light nod back. We exchanged handsignals before a patrol entered the area. They was quickly set to secure the area.

Now, as I was looking up at this stair way, this burning furniture blocked the way. If he was up there, nothing else to do but move it the fuck out of the way. So I did, burning my hands badly even though I had wrapped cloth around both. Well, the thing is. This building was empty so Lone set out to find him while I looked a bit around the town. I went back to base, and as time passed by... Ace was returned alive, so that's a good job Lone. I would pad you on the shoulder, but yeah.. -

"So after this incident I heard some new guy on the radio saying he found some headset with a recording. He said the person talking on it was Snow and Snow had been missing for a day, so I called him to Command and Control with Husky and Lone. I started to question them one by one, and it appeared that Snow was taken hostage during a attack the day before and thrown in a boat. I felt the anger raising inside myself as I was sitting in that couch. I dismissed Husky and asked Lone and the new guy to stay. We talked for some time before I decided to set after him by boat, the two others said they were going with. I should have said no, I should just have said no.. As we came out there, we hit a explosion and Lone was thrown off the boat, Ashley were shot by a insurgent protecting the area Snow was kept in. I made my way through the area and found Snow, he was out cold on a chair. Tied up as I could hardly regonize my own spritual brother, I went to cut the ties and moved him up onto my shoulder. I slowly moved back out through the area and put Snow in the boat. Just before I left I looked over at the new guys dead body. Fuck it, he said he wanted to be called Ashley. I better fucking do it to show him some respect, I stood up and took his body up on shore. I did actully put the mission in danger just to burry his body. So I did, I ripped his dogtags off him and said a prayer for him before moving the dirt back down upon him. May you rest in peace, Ashley. So afterwards, I got back in the boat and started the motor. We went back in the direction we came from and hell... It took its fucking time, we came back in shore at the base. I took Snow up in my arms as I walked to the medbay, yelling in the mic for a medic. Nobody responded so I had to treat him just as I got in there, that was one hell of a fucking day."

*David chuckle for a moment before going.. "Snow, he feels like the last. The last part of my family since the rest is dead." David shakes his head for a moment before going...*

"Snow is my spiritual brother, a family member like. I would do more stupid shit for that motherfucker."

*David cracks a light smile before he continues his story..*

"Right, so Exo asked me to take over the Rangers and I agreed. So I were waiting for the papers to be in place, the Colonel called for Snow and I, we walked up to Command and Control. She was standing in there we he arms crossed as we came closer she handed us both a small box and said. Congratulations Second Lieutenants, I was like... Wait.. You're fucking kidding me, right? But it was true and with that we became Cee-Oue's."

*One of the men goes.."What were your last words to your mother?" (This question was clearly only said to make David pissed)*

*David slowly turns his head to look directly at him, with a extremely serious face he goes.."I said, I love you but fuck you... Why the fuck do you want to know that shit?! You really want me to come over there!?"*

*The man starts laughing uncontrollably, before the other man goes.."You better just stay over there Dusk."*

*David turns to the other man before he shout.."You better not fucking call me Dusk, you son of a bitch!"

*He burts into laughter too as David yells at him.*

*David jumps off the chair walking directly into the man with the gun, shoulder pushing him as he walks directly at the men.*

* The armed man quickly walks over to David as David takes a choke hold on one of them, he pistol whips him three times before David falls to the ground knocked out.*

*David opens his eyes, looking around sitting in the exact same room with the exact same people. This time he notices he's tied to the chair.*

*One man goes.."That was funny, even though you got some power in those fingers. It was worth it."*

*The other man goes.."Lets try to avoid such a conflict again, shall we? Please, do continue.."*

*David slowly shakes his head at him as he cracks a light smile.*

"I were promoted to Captain and took lead of the platoon, that turned my life and relationship to some comrades upside down. I really don't see the reason why I ever got the rank of Captain, I would love to just.."
"You see, life takes us in some directions we never expected to go. I kept telling myself, I am able to do this. The problem is or was, that I'm a soldier on the frontlines and not a suit behind a desk.."
*David lowers his head taking a deep breath before looking back up at the two.*
"I never expected to come this far, I am nothing and everything.. I didn't like it and now this, what do you expect me to say? I rather want to be back home? I got nothing back there, I could as well jump out of the chopper and see where I go next."
*The two men look at each other before slowly turning back to David who is sitting starring into the table, looking rather depressed but still proud.*
"David, you need to man up and get on with the story. Is that understood?"
*David slowly raises his head back up, starring over at the two as he slowly nods. Opening his mouth about to talk, but keeping silent for a moment like a long Uhmm.*
"Right... We had a set of operations, Snow got shot in the neck, sadly Anthony was out of range to take him down. The commander I mean, so Snow were shot in the neck and I just went under there. They said he would survive, I just got up and out of there, I went to a distant city in the desert and found a doctor able to help him. I then had a coversation with him and well, we ended up at the base, having Snow treated he left after and yeah."
*David cracks a light smile before shaking his head as he takes a deep breath and continues.*
"Alright, so all this went down. A set of rushes on the base had left me wounded, lung puncture that's not the first time but oh well."
"So, some time after that I felt better and could actually walk without losing my breath. I got a request on the radio from Snow, O'Neil were gone and he just asked me to come by. So I did, this situation turned wrong but he got O'Neil. So as they were all carried out, I made my way out since I were in civilian rags and had been shot five times, I did not expect to make it but I did. So I spent a whole load of time sitting in the medbay, ending up more and more depressed."
*David seems a bit knocked out thinking about the situation.*
"Back then I were just looking for death, I just wanted to die. I had given up on everything, not even Snow could have pulled me back up. Out of myself, I went out in the field dressed up as a local again, as I finally could come past Snow and O'Neil. As I got out, my mind just switched up, I were just looking for peace and death, I don't... I don't know.. Haven't any of you tried to feel lower than low, when you get up in the morning and go to sleep again?... I guess not, I better move on with this story now."
*David takes another deep breath as he slowly exhales and gives them a slight nod.*
"All the people I knew once, the people I cared about once. Well, most is gone and I don't really cared anymore at that point, so I just had to command the platoon and a set of Rangers, thank you. This didn't help at all, but I tried my best, that's all I can say."
*One of the men slides a file across the table, it stops right infront of David. He lets his head fall so that his line of sight gets lowered to the lines on the papers. The journal appears to be his own, he looks up at the two before turning back to the papers.*
"That's your journal, David. You had a older sister but she died as she were only two months old, as your fathers enemies in the streets didn't like the way he left. They went up to your families house and took what they believed to be theirs, they took the money and accidently managed to kill her, in the cradle. One month later you were born and your father died just a few hours before you were born. I must say, you had bad luck, David."
"... You don't say. Why is it you need my to tell my story when you got it on paper?"
"Simple, David. You're just confirming the journal and such. Oh and you got some information, we want. So.. Continue."

...

*David cracks a light smile before he starts to talk again.*
"I see, well. Lets get started then, but tell me when the information you want comes up. So I can go into details for you, alright?"
"Alright."
*David shakes his head as it is clear to see through his eyes he won't tell them anything by then.*
"Right... I recieved a mission from high command to infiltrate this group of insurgents by my own name and uniform. I would have to gain their trust, so they asked me to bring parts for a missile... So I did, everything went to my surpirse. They asked me why I had defected and well, I used the excuse that I were tired of the hire, tired of fighting for the states, they were on the right route and I wanted a part of it... They believed me, so days passed by and I were surrounded by these men, trying to find this chip. I spent a week and finally found it, as I had it. We were standing on this hill, a larger group. I stood with my back turned to them as I spoke with their leader. Suddenly some noises could be heard, I turned around and they fired a missile in direction of a small town... The city stood in flames, what was left of it that is..."
*David takes a deep breath and holds it for a moment before continuing*
"Alright, I died. Well, I were killed by Jason Hurtlock, so to say. I completed the mission, time after. I attempted to bring in intel as my status were still Kay-Eye-Aye. I got shot up, unmasked and sent home to court for opening fire on Snow. Well, he got shot right before my eyes earlier that day. So I had some time in the base before I were sent back home to go through the trial. And now I'm here, what is it you want from me?"

*The man looks over at David as he gives him a slight nod before rasing himself back up from the chair, so does his fellow suit. They stand up and leave, without saying a word. There sits David, alone tied to a chair.*

*Another place, another time, another day.
Quiet and peaceful the area is, the trees is standing there. Spreading its braches out as the wind plays with it. A soft and beautiful dance between the two as the sun glares down upon the tombstone.*
*A male figure in a military dress uniform stands infront of the tombstone, he appears to just be starring down upon it as the wind starts to increase and the clouds fills the sky. He doesn't appear to care at all as he lowers himself down onto his right knee. Staying in that positon as he mumbles a set of words to the tombstone. The weather suddenly takes another turn and small drops can be felt before the wind increases and a stream of snow starts falling. He just slowly raises himself back up, starring at the tombstone as he suddenly snaps his heels together. Straightening his back as the wind incrases even more, creating a snowy inferno around the area. As all this happens he brings his right hand to his eyebrow, saluting the tombstone infront of him, standing there for more than ten minutes in the storm before he lowers the salute, turns on his heel and leaves the area.*

*A moment of silence is heard through the raging storm as the tombstone comes up to a closer view. The snow wirwling around and simple dancing over the stone as the name Jason Hurtlock can be seen on the tombstone, the tombstone slowly fades away and the picture is changed in a flash of light to a simple foto of Jason and David, side by side. A white strip of paper can be seen across the bottom of the paper reading "The best is yet to come, brother." Suddenly the whole thing turns into a blur and fades to a man sitting in an alley with his hand covering his face, he can be heard asking himself.. "Is this the end?" *

*The picture fades away, all that is left is a blur. Suddenly the picture comes back, focusing on a small lamp, spreading its bright light across the dark firing range. The picture slowly turns its line of perspective to a man sitting with an M4A1 Colt Carbine on a set of stairs. He slowly pulls back the charging handle as he keeps his head lowered. He slowly mumbles.."No, this is only the beginning.." He is there after seen slowly raising himself back up into a standing position, still keeping his head down as he flicks the safety off on the carbine with a dead experssion on his face. He slowly raises the carbine to shoulder height, placing it there to absorb the recoil as he takes aim down the iron sight. He is then seen moving his finger to the trigger and all of the suddenl with a set of shift motions, he fires a set of five shots in the dark, slowly lowering the carbine back down in direction of the ground. He looks up at the targets, each one with a perfect hit before he starts talking again.."We don't always choose the first path, we walk along. We're just sent out on a long journey, on our own. We need to find, that one place we call 'home.' I never found 'home,' and I never will, I'm bound to fate. I'm bound to roam these fields of endless warfare till' I'm put to rest... We don't always choose the first path, we walk along. I found the end of that path, and created my own path, my own footsteps. After walking this long road, I started drawing people down my path. All these people, they're dead now. Dead and gone, this is war and tomorrow isn't promised. So, I'll try and leave as much behind of my story as possible, only to those who would be able to understand... We don't always choose the first path, but we choose the second and that is where our life changes... Forever... All this, all this shit you've heard by now. That is just the beginning, cause... The best is yet to come..." He is there after seen walking towards the target, walking right past them as he continues through the snowy landscape. The picture slowly lifts itself towards the sky, exposing the cold landscape of Alaska before he fades away and vanishes in a blur.*

[ Why am I? ]

*The twisted picture turns into a bright light, suddenly set in an American camp in Afghanistan. The sun is burning hot and spreading its bright light across the sandy blanket of the desert. A set of two soldiers is seen standing a little away from a large checkpoint, they stand there talking, the picture comes a little closer. Two privates, the one says to the other.."Check this Pee-Dee-Aye, I'm able to transfer data from this pad to any flash drive or hard drive. Pretty cool, right?" The other soldier answers him as he scratches the back of his head.."Well, it might just become useful, I guess." The private with the PDA shakes his head at him as he replies.."This is the finest set of technology and you say, it might just become useful." The other private tilts his head a bit, keeping quiet for a moment before he replies.."Yeah? Its a little electronic device, it might help you but it won't win the fight for you." The Private with the PDA burts into laughter as the other Private finishes his sentence. The Private with the PDA keeps laughing for a moment before he stops, trying to catch his breath before he replies.."David, you gotta trust your equipment a little more. So, I won't have to come and save your ass." He finishes the sentence with a light smile on his face before the picture turns to the other private, now unmasked looking quiet familiar. He looks over his shoulder before he replies.."So, Hal... The last time I saved you didn't count?" Hal looks down at his boots for a moment before looking back up at David with a bright smile before he nods slowly and replies.."Well, good to have you here with." David nods slowly at him before he cracks a smile himself and replies.."You too, bud. You too."*
[^ In memory of Hal ]

*The picture starts spinning around before it comes to a sudden stop. Now the settings have changed, its a long dark hallway and at the end some red light can be seen. Two soldiers is seen walking down this hallway, suddenly a man steps up behind them, speaking English in a Russian accent.."Don't move." Both the soldiers freeze as soon as they hear him. Standing completely still, all silence.. Out of nowhere a shot is fired and one of the soldiers falls to the ground, emitting sounds of clear pain. The other soldiers stands completely still as the man speaks again.."Don't move, stand still till' I've reached the end of the tunnel." The still standing soldier nods slowly as the unknown man, walks down the hallway. Suddenly the soldier that would still be standing, raises his carbine, taking a few steps back. Checking up on his comrade before he starts dragging him back with him. A moment goes by before the soldier dragging the other, speaks..."Damnit, who the fuck was that?".. The soldier being dragged replies in a quiet upset tone.."I don't know, he must've been some Russian.".. The soldier dragging him shakes his head as he replies.."Well, I'm getting you out of here, Gerat.".. The picture fades from this and to a photo of a smaller squad of men. The white line under the photo got a handwritten note reading.."Bravo.".. The zooms in on the men before it fades again.*
[^ In honor of Gerat and how a friendship is forged ]

*The picture pops up, settings have changed again. The rain falling as the wind brews up, a set of soldiers is seen standing next to a large rock in a woodland envoirment. A woman have her pistol raised towards one soldier, one soldier is seen on the ground bleeding as one soldier closes up letting out a faint.."Midnight.." He quickly walks up closer, raising his carbine at the woman as he asks.."You shot him!?".. The woman turns her head to him, raising an eyebrow at him as she speaks.."Lower your rifle, soldier!".. The man on the ground, hardly able to speak lets out a few words.."She shot me, Dusk.." The man holding his carbine directed towards the woman keeps it there as he talks.."Lower the weapon, Sergeant." The woman shakes his head at him as she speaks.."Listen, this is a taitor. This is not Jaden, its Kyle, damnit!".. He quickly turns his head to the soldier whom the Sergeant aims at, raising an eyebrow at him before he looks back at the Sergeant and replies.."I.. I don't know what to believe..".. A moment of silence passes by as the soldier on the ground, named Midnight asks Dusk to shoot her. Dusk stands confused, not knowing what to do. He nods at the woman before he speaks.."I'm sorry, Young." as he finishes his sentence, he slings his firearm and lowers himself down. Quickly taking a hold of Midnight, lifting him up and carries him back to base. He looks over his shoulder once, spotting Young and "Jaden" standing back down by the rocks. He turns back to Midnight who speaks a few faint words.."Thanks, Dusk...".. Dusk nods at him twice as he carries him inside medical, slowly lowering him down onto the bed... Suddenly the picture fades again.*
